In this interactive workshop, participants will explore distinct types of unconscious bias through real life examples, gaining insights into how bias impacts our judgment. We will walk through day-to-day situations where bias plays a role, fostering a deeper understanding of its effects and then equip participants with actionable strategies to create a fair and positive work environment. Participants will learn tools to challenge internal stereotypes within their workplace.

Description

Over the course of the day, we explore a range of topics linked to Unconscious Bias:

  1. Exploring the different forms of Unconscious Bias: Whether it is Confirmation Bias, the Horn/Halo e ect, Beauty Bias or Authority bias all make an impact in our judgement and decision-making process
  2. Recognising & identifying our own biases: To identify and analysis where our own biases lie on a day-to-day basis and the impact this has on our daily lives mindset to become more inclusive?
  3. Creating a positive approach to making a difference: How to challenge Unconscious bias in our colleagues or managers to make a positive change within our everyday environment.
  4. Our responsibilities under the Equality Act 2010: The list of protected characterises for individuals means we create an inclusive workforce, even if work stations, hours or conditions must be altered. How to we make this fair to all?

Driving diversity through recognising unconscious bias is designed to drive diversity from the moment a job is advertised and through the recruitment process, whilst the continuation of a diverse workforce also comes from people managers and senior leadership teams.
